Junior Games Developer

Big Pixel Studios, a leading independent game studio based in London, are seeking a Junior Games Developer with bright and exciting ideas to join our existing team. You will program in ActionScript 3 and Objective-C to create innovative Flash and iOS games, with the opportunity to work on other platforms.

Although this is a junior role, some experience is required and you must have developed at least one complete game (big or small!) in ActionScript 3 or Objective-C. You will be required to show some code from the game and discuss the techniques and approach you have taken. Unfortunately we can only accept applicants who can show at least one Flash or iOS game which they have developed. (Note: as this is strictly a developer role, the artistic quality of your example game(s) will not be judged.)

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on Big Pixel titles, as well as developing games for a variety of high profile clients. You will also be required to contribute to game design and will be involved in all aspects of game development.
NOTE: You must live within commutable distance to our offices based in Farringdon, London.

Essential Skills:

  • ActionScript 3 and/or C/Obj C/C++ programming experience
  • Game development experience – at least one example game in your portfolio
  • Knowledge of 2D physics
  • Passion for casual/mobile games

Bonus Skills:

  • Cocos2d
  • OpenGL
  • Box2d
  • Unity
  • Android/Java development

Salary: £17k – £25k depending on experience
